Recommended supplies, books, videos and studies

What we suggest, with a photo of each product. Links open Amazon. Essential DMSO only makes the recommendation. The videos are third-party clips, and the studies are published papers for reading — neither is medical advice from this site.

DMSO

These are the bottles we suggest. Check the label against the purity notes, and dilute from the how-to page unless the bottle is already the 70% mix.

Carrier oils

What each oil is for sits on the Oils page. Castor oil is layered, not mixed into one bottle: how to layer it.

Essential oils

With DMSO, essential oils are topical only, never above 4% of the blend, and a patch test comes first. Never nebulise an essential oil, or an essential oil with DMSO.

Other supplies

Nebuliser

This is a medical nebuliser for prescribed liquid medication only. Never put DMSO, a DMSO blend, or essential oils in it.

Books

Five books. A short note on each one is below. The links go to Amazon. They are not a promise that a protocol in the book is right for you.

  • Cover of The DMSO Handbook by Hartmut Fischer

    DMSO Handbook — Hartmut Fischer

A practical reference, written in German and translated into English. Fischer, a practitioner with a research background, sets out how he uses DMSO, including strengths and ways of applying it, for readers and for therapists. ISBN 3981525558.

  • Cover of The Ultimate DMSO Healing Handbook by Tom Ralston

The Ultimate DMSO Healing Handbook — Tom Ralston

A short home guide. Ralston explains dilution, which grades he looks for, what he mixes with DMSO, and a day-by-day plan he calls a reset. ISBN 919901033X.

  • Cover of DMSO: The Complete Guide by Davis M. Fiedler

DMSO: The Complete Guide — Davis M. Fiedler

A plain-language look at what DMSO is, where it has been studied, and how to handle and dilute it. Fiedler, a retired chiropractor, stays with published research and precautions rather than one fixed home routine. ASIN B0H9P5RHRJ.

  • Cover of Healing with DMSO by Amandha Dawn Vollmer

Healing with DMSO — Amandha Dawn Vollmer

A home handbook for use on the skin: how to dilute, what to watch for, and recipes that combine DMSO with carrier oils and other ingredients. Much of the protocol library on this site follows this book. ISBN 1646040023.

  • Cover of The DMSO Handbook for Doctors by Archie Scott

The DMSO Handbook for Doctors — Archie Scott

A short handbook aimed at clinicians. Scott gathers published reports and notes on how he has seen DMSO used in a clinic, including with other substances. It is a professional reference, not a step-by-step home manual. ISBN 1475997922.

Studies and references

These are the numbered sources behind the library. An entry shows the same numbers, like a paper: [4] opens reference 4 on this page. A citation is a reading pointer. It is not proof that a home routine works, and it is not medical advice. Shop links for the handbooks we already recommend stay under Books. Nothing below is a new Amazon link.

In rats with chemically induced diabetic eye disease, a clinic-style injection of 50% DMSO under the conjunctiva was linked to better measured retinal function and slower diabetic cataract progression than the untreated diabetic control group. This was an animal study, not a human trial, and that injection route is not a home treatment.
